Welcome to the Year 7 transition page of Alderwood Senior School. We hope you find the information on our website helpful, and we are excited to welcome our new cohort of Year 7 students in September 2025.
Transition Events
Taster Day for Year 7 Students
Wednesday, 2nd July & Thursday, 3rd July 9:00am - 3:00pm
Year 7 students are invited to join us for their Taster Days on Wednesday, 2nd July, and Thursday, 3rd July. These days will offer students a preview of what school life will be like from September. They will participate in lessons across core subjects, creative arts, and PE, allowing them to meet their teachers and get a feel for the school environment.
Students are not required to bring any extra items, such as a PE kit or writing materials, as everything needed for the day will be provided by the teachers.
Pupils should arrive by 9:00 am at the front gate and will leave at 3:00 pm through the same gates.
On Wednesday, we ask the students to bring a packed lunch. On Thursday, we will provide lunch for the students. Please ensure your child orders their meal using the link provided here.
Information Evening for Parents
Wednesday, 2nd July 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
On Wednesday, 2nd July, we will be hosting an Information Evening for parents. During this session, you will hear from Mr. Titheridge, our Executive Headteacher, Mr Scott, our Head of School. You will also have the opportunity to meet key staff members. Parents will receive important information to help prepare for Summer School and the start of term in September.
The information evening will run from 6:00 pm to 7:00pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
Summer School
Monday 18th August to Thursday 21st August- 9 am until 1 pm.
If you would like your son/ daughter to attend, please complete the form here.
During this time, students will have the opportunity to meet key staff and explore the school.
This is also a great time for students to practice the ‘walk to school’.
A snack will be provided at breaktime; however, no lunch will be provided.
