National Testing Week
National Testing week
We wish all of our year 6 children the best of luck for
their exams in a few weeks, their timetable is as
follows:
Monday 11th May—English Grammar, Punctuation
and Spelling test
Tuesday 12th May—English Reading test
Wednesday 13th May—Maths Arithmetic Paper 1 and
Maths Reasoning Paper 2 tests
Thursday 14th May —Maths Reasoning Paper 3 test
All tests will start at approximately 9.15am.
We hope that many of the year 6 children will be
coming in for their breakfast throughout the week -
getting settled early and chatting to friends can really
help calm any nerves. If they don’t want the breakfast,
they are more than welcome just to come and sit with
their friends in the hall/classroom. If not, they need to
be in school by 8:45am like the rest of the school.
Year 1 children will also be completing their phonics
check during the week starting 8th June. Children will
complete this with their own class teacher. Results will
be enclosed with children’s end of year report. Last
year the pass mark was 32 out of 40, so children who
didn’t pass last year will be taking it again this year
whilst in year 2.
Year 4 children will be completing their multiplication
tables check (MTC) throughout the week’s starting 1st
and 12th June. This is an online check which asks 25
multiplication questions. There is no pass or fail for
this test. Scores will be enclosed with children’s end of
year report.
