Alderwood School

Welcome to the Learning Resource Centre!

Mon - Thurs    8am - 4pm

Fri    8am - 3.30pm

The Learning Resource Centre has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and is open for quiet study, reading, relaxing, or for completing homework on one of the PCs before school, during break times, and after school.

There are a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books which spark curiosity about the world around us, meet the needs of our diverse community, and support in the learning and teaching of different audience levels.

Alderwood Senior School’s LRC collection has been developed to reflect the values of Alderwood Senior School, as well as take into consideration the principles set out in the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) School Library Bill of Rights. The School Library Association (SLA) and The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) have expressed support for the AASL’s principles. In a joint statement, they asserted: “We affirm the principles set out in the AASL School Library Bill of Rights……” (joint_statement_school_libra.pdf)
